Yvonne Hofstetter, 1966, lawyer and essayist, started her IT career in 1999 for a US software provider and with Distributed Artificial Intelligence. In 2020, she co-founded 21strategies and has been its CEO ever since. 21strategies transforms how organizations make strategic and tactical decisions under uncertainty. To aim at that mission, the company provides next-gen artificial intelligence for both the defense and commercial industries.
In the media, Hofstetter made numerous comments about the technological impact of AI. Her books “Sie wissen alles” (2014) and “Das Ende der Demokratie” (2016) have been published by C. Bertelsmann Random House. In 2019, she published her latest book “Der unsichtbare Krieg” with Droemer Knaur. In 2018, Hofstetter was awarded the 53rd Theodor Heuss Award for her commitment to democracy. In 2020, she was awarded an honorary professorship for digitalization and society at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, and in 2021 awarded as “Top 50 AI CEO 2021” by US magazine Technology Innovators. Since 2023, she represents the German nation at NATO’s Data and Artificial Intelligence Review Board (DARB).
