Cristiano is a theoretical particle physicist, with a Ph.D. in statistical physics at SISSA (Trieste, 2016). After his studies and research on fundamental physics, in particular on entanglement entropy, he has been involved for a couple of years in deep learning R&D. Starting from computer vision he is now senior deep learning scientist in the AI team actively working on intelligent language at Harman, a Samsung company. His approach is strongly research-oriented. He pays particular attention to state-of-the-art algorithms, with an eye out for recent developments in AI and Quantum Computing, his past research topic. Moreover, being a civil pilot, he loves following AI advancements in aviation.
Cristiano is also a machine/deep learning instructor for Deep Learning Italia and recently also for the Master in High-Performance Computing (SISSA/ICTP) held in Trieste. He authored several scientific papers and he is an active speaker in AI meetups, conferences, and workshops.
