Phishing Unmasked: Decoding Human Vulnerability in an AI-Driven Cybersecurity Landscape
15:30—15:50

This presentation will explore the evolving landscape of phishing attacks in the context of an AI-powered digital world, focusing on the intricate interplay between technology and human behavior. We will delve into a comprehensive analysis of large-scale phishing campaigns that targeted over 25,000 users, revealing critical insights into victim behavior, password selection, and emotional responses. By utilizing advanced computational techniques such as natural language processing and sentiment analysis, we will uncover persistent patterns of re-victimization and demographic correlations that heighten susceptibility to these attacks.
Attendees will learn about the significant role of human factors in cybersecurity, emphasizing the need for a holistic approach to defense strategies. By understanding the psychological aspects of phishing, participants will be better equipped to develop effective countermeasures and enhance organizational resilience. Join us to gain valuable insights into how the intersection of AI and human behavior can inform future cybersecurity practices and strengthen defenses against phishing in an increasingly digital world.

Understanding the Critical Role of the Human Element in Cybersecurity: The Role of Training as a Cyber Risk Reduction Instrument
16:10—16:30

In the constantly evolving realm of cybersecurity, the human aspect is crucial yet frequently underestimated.

Cybersecurity involves protecting IT systems from threats posed by cybercriminals. These criminals might aim to manipulate systems, steal or export data, or disrupt or alter services. However, what occurs when individuals, rather than IT systems, become the focus of these attacks? Moving from targeting systems to targeting people necessitates a different methodology and a shift in tactics.

In his presentation, Enrico will explore the CYRUS European project, an endeavour to develop personalised cybersecurity training programmes specifically for the manufacturing and transport sectors. Drawing on research, Enrico will unveil key findings regarding the distinct skill shortfalls and training necessities identified within these industries. He will spotlight these sectors' peculiar challenges and how personalised training enables employees at every level, from the factory floor to the executive suite, to recognise and counter cybersecurity threats effectively.
