The European Cybersecurity Competence Center (ECCC) and the future of Cybersecurity in Europe

Session
Wednesday, November 09, 2022 17:20—17:40
Location: Historic Kassenhalle

In order to increase Europe´s cybersecurity capabilities, capacities and competitiveness, the EU created the ECCC, which is taking seat in Bucharest and collaborating with National Coordination Centres (NCCs) in each EU member state. Inspired by the huge need for a well-organized ecosystem shielding European economies and societies from cyber risks and strengthening cyber research and development, the European Commission tasked four pilot projects to trial the future work of the ECCC. Prof. Dr. Kai Rannenberg, who is coordinating CyberSec4Europe (www.cybersec4europe), one of the four pilots, will report on initial results of the work and will provide a perspective on the future of the ECCC and related work on cybersecurity .
