Principles Based Regulations and Standards (e.g. GDPR, BCBS 239) now routinely refer to the need for a “Design” as part of their core compliance requirements without specifying what the design should contain or how it will be judged.

This talk explores how a compliance design should be analysed and how designs can be systematically compared rather than current subjective opinion based processes.
