Ian Glazer is an accomplished IT Thought Leader and Product Management Executive with extensive experience in identity management, privacy, compliance, and access governance. He is a strategic leader who has directed and executed product strategy, managed partner relationships, and driven industry direction to deliver safe and secure user experiences. Ian has been recognized by his peers and industry influencers as a top researcher and insightful analyst.
Ian Glazer is the founder and president of Weave Identity – an advisory services firm. Prior to founding Weave, Ian served as Senior Vice-President of Identity Product Management at Salesforce, where he directed the overall product strategy, including vision, priority setting, and budget management, and held several senior executive positions. He also led several initiatives, including a multi-cloud identity program and a multi-factor authentication program, from concept to delivery. Ian has been a spokesperson for Salesforce's identity product line and delivered keynote speeches at major industry events such as Identiverse and RSA Conference.
Before joining Salesforce, Ian served as a Research Vice-President and Agenda Manager at Gartner, where he led the Identity and Privacy Strategies team. He was responsible for providing actionable intelligence to C-level senior management and industry influencers, and he trained and mentored new analysts in delivering written analysis and presentation skills. Ian also planned and managed a significant portion of Gartner's Catalyst event, including identity, privacy, security content, overall event themes, keynotes, and format.
Earlier in his career, Ian worked at Approva Corp. as a Senior Director of Program Management, where he led the design and user experience global product team. He also served as a Technical Alliances Director within the business and corporate development team, providing industry expertise to create successful partnerships and enhance the overall customer value of Approva deployments. Additionally, he worked at Trusted Network Technologies as Director of Identity Strategy, where he infused market expertise into every company level and acted as the primary spokesperson for identity strategy.
Ian Glazer is a recognized industry expert and has been frequently cited by news services such as the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and TechTarget. His written research has consistently ranked in the top 25% of all Gartner for Technical Professionals research, and he received Gartner's Thought Leadership Award in 2012 for his work on mobile reference architecture. Ian has a proven track record of delivering high-quality research findings, driving innovation, and building successful partnerships to enhance customer value.
Ian is most proud of his accomplishments in conceiving, building, and nurturing the growth of IDPro https://idpro.org, a professional association that serves as a resource for practitioners and enterprises in the digital identity and access management industry. He continues to serve in an active leadership role for the organization numbering more than 1000 individual members and scores of member companies.
As a recognized industry expert, Ian served as Vice-Chair of the Identity Ecosystem Steering Group (IDESG), a public-private partnership as described in the US National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC),
Ian is a published author, inventor, and industry speaker; he earned a Bachelor of Applied Science - Cum Laude, Computer Science Major, and English Minor from University of Pennsylvania, School of Engineering and Applied Science, Philadelphia, PA and attended the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Scotland, studying Artificial Intelligence and Scottish Literature.
