Takuya Omura, is the Managing Director of the Business Development Office, part of the Corporate Planning Division, for the MUFG group in Japan, and holds a BA in Political Science from Gakushuin University. MUFG is built on over 360 years of experience delivered through a global network spanning more than 50 countries and regions. Takuya is leading the group's efforts to spearhead new business development activities. As part of these new business development initiatives, MUFG has identified Decentralized Identity and Verifiable Credentials as one of the core themes that has the potential to significantly transform the banking industry for the next generation. Starting in 2023, MUFG launched a project focusing on these new capabilities. Currently, MUFG are working in collaboration with partner companies to advance the practical application of this technology and the launch of new banking services.
