Dr. Francesca Morpurgo

Francesca Morpurgo (she, her) holds a degree in Philosophy, with a thesis in Logic, and a PhD in Logic and Epistemology from the Sapienza University of Rome, where she researched the creation and management of knowledge in complex organisations. She then worked as a content manager and information architect for several Internet companies and as a UX consultant. She is actively involved in a number of voluntary organisations and, in addition to her work as a researcher, she is currently a Municipal Councillor for the City of Rome, where she is President of the Commission for Youth and Education Policies. Due to her diverse experience, she is particularly interested in the philosophy of technology, especially Artificial Intelligence, and its ethical implications. In the context of the EU-funded project IMPULSE (“Identity Management in Public Services”), she worked on the ethical implications of digital identity, also defining a methodology for the ethical assessment of the IMPULSE digital identity solution. She is currently a senior researcher and ethics consultant at CyberEthics Lab. Srls, an Italian SME that promotes a sustainable and socially responsible innovation ecosystem by helping organisations to promote compliance, ethics and security.
