As a Policy Officer at the European Commission, I lead the development and deployment of the European Digital Identity and Trust Services Framework and the implementation of the eIDAS Regulation. With over 15 years of experience in building secure digital infrastructures, I have a deep understanding of the technical, legal, and policy aspects of digital technologies in the European context.
Prior to joining the European Commission, I served as the Chief Technology Officer at the Italian Government, where I created and led multidisciplinary teams dedicated to developing digital platforms and providing insights and advice to policy-makers about new digital technologies. Some of the key initiatives I worked on include the Contact Tracing Apps, Digital Covid Certificate, the Italian Cloud Strategy, and the National Strategic Hub for cloud strategic autonomy. I am passionate about using technology for public good and improving people's lives.
