Dr.-Ing. Steven Arzt

Dr. Steven Arzt leads the Secure Software Engineering department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology (SIT) in Darmstadt. He also oversees the software security research division at the National Research Center for Applied Cybersecurity, ATHENE.

In collaboration with his team, he actively engages in research related to software security and provides guidance to both companies and government organizations on a wide range of software system lifecycle aspects. This encompasses everything from risk assessment, secure architecture design, penetration testing, and code reviews to the implementation of secure update procedures and PSIRT (Product Security Incident Response Team) functions. Additionally, Dr. Arzt is a frequent contributor to publications on the automated detection of security vulnerabilities in software.
