ISACA was founded in 1969 and is an independent, global professional association for IT auditors, accountants, and information security and IT governance professionals. ISACA supports its members by offering education and training as well as the development, implementation and use of globally recognized expertise and methodologies. Today ISACA hosts several international conferences, publishes the ISACA Journal, develops international auditing standards and awards globally recognized professional certifications. Since 1996 ISACA has also developed and maintained the COBIT framework for governance and management of enterprise IT.
ISACA has more than 200 chapters established in over 80 countries worldwide.
The seventh largest Chapter is the ISACA Germany Chapter. It was founded in 1986 in Düsseldorf, is now headquartered in Berlin and has over 3,500 members.
One goal of the Germany Chapter is to provide training and continuing education for members based on internationally recognized professional certifications such as CISA, but also based on specific German needs. Therefore, ISACA Germany offers its own preparation courses for the international certifications and a consecutive national certificate program based on COBIT.
The German chapter cooperates with partners on seminars, conferences, and conventions in Germany and internationally.
With the ISACA Expert Groups ISACA Germany covers a wide range of knowledge areas that are of interest to the members.
